Possible Causes
Removed splash guard on EZ-Mount model, Torn or deformed rubber baffle, Incorrect sink flange or guard installed, Overfilling chamber with water and waste
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the disposal before installing or removing the splash guard.
- Step 1 – Inspect splash guard: Look at the sink opening. On most Waste King EZ-Mount models, a rubber splash guard sits in the sink flange. If it is missing, torn, or deformed, it will not contain splashing.
- Step 2 – Replace guard: Purchase a compatible Waste King splash guard and insert it into the sink flange, ensuring it sits flat and snug.
- Step 3 – Adjust usage: Avoid overfilling the disposal with water and waste before turning it on. Feed waste gradually with water running.
- Step 4 – Test: Run the disposal with the new guard in place and observe for reduced splashing.
