Safety First: Turn OFF the disposal before inspecting the sink opening.

Check splash guard: Verify that the rubber splash guard (sink baffle) is installed and seated properly. Replace if it is torn, hardened, or missing.
Use correct part: Install a Waste Maid-compatible splash guard sized for your sink opening and model.
Reduce water flow: Avoid running the faucet at maximum flow while grinding; moderate flow reduces splash.
Check for discharge restriction: If splashing is new, inspect the discharge elbow and P-trap for partial clogs that could cause back pressure.
