Possible Causes
Insufficient plumber's putty under flange, Warped sink surface, Loose mounting ring screws, Dried-out sealant on older Waste Maid installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Do not leave the cabinet wet; prolonged moisture can cause mold and damage.
- Confirm leak: Plug the sink, fill with water, and add a few drops of food coloring. Check under the sink for colored drips around the flange area.
- Try tightening first: Slightly tighten the mounting ring screws evenly to compress the putty. Do not overtighten and deform the sink.
- Reseal if needed: If tightening does not stop the leak, remove the disposal and sink flange, clean off old putty, and apply fresh plumber's putty before reinstalling.
- Test again: Refill the sink and check for leaks. Re-adjust as needed.
