Possible Causes
Failed sink-top air switch module, Damaged low-voltage communication cable, Faulty wireless receiver in control box, Misconfigured pairing between switch and control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before handling any wiring.
- Check sink-top switch: For an air switch, press the button and listen for the click at the air switch module under the sink. Ensure the air tubing is firmly connected and not kinked or cut.
- Inspect communication cable: If your Whirlpool model uses a low-voltage cable between the switch and control, verify both ends are fully seated and the cable is not pinched or damaged.
- Re-pair wireless switch (if applicable): Follow the Whirlpool manual to enter pairing mode on the control box and re-pair the wireless switch.
- Bypass test: With power off, temporarily connect a standard wall switch or jumper across the control input terminals (per wiring diagram) to see if the motor runs. If it does, the user interface module is faulty.
