Inspect splash guard: Check the rubber baffle at the top of the disposal. If it is torn, hardened, or missing, it will not contain splashes.
Replace guard: Install a new Whirlpool-compatible splash guard of the correct size for your model.
Adjust water flow: Avoid running water at extremely high flow rates while grinding, which can increase splashing.
Verify seating: Ensure the splash guard is fully seated in the sink flange or mounting ring.
