Possible Causes
Loose mounting ring, Bent or damaged impeller, Foreign object stuck on one side of grinding plate, Misaligned discharge plumbing stressing unit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before inspecting under the sink.
- Check for foreign objects: With power off, inspect the grinding chamber and remove any objects stuck on one side of the impeller.
- Verify mounting ring: Check that the Whirlpool mounting assembly is tight against the sink flange. Tighten the three mounting screws evenly.
- Inspect sink flange: Ensure the flange is seated flat and not cocked to one side.
- Check plumbing alignment: Make sure the discharge pipe is not forcing the disposal to sit at an angle.
- If vibration continues: The impeller plate may be bent or the motor shaft may be out of balance, requiring replacement of the disposal.
