Whirlpool garbage disposal will not start from the air switch on the countertop.

Safety first: Turn off power to the disposal before working under the sink.

• Check air tubing: Verify the clear or opaque air tube is firmly connected between the countertop button and the air switch module. Straighten any kinks.
• Listen for click: Press the button and listen near the air switch module for a click. No click suggests a failed switch or blocked tubing.
• Inspect for moisture: Ensure no water has entered the air tube or switch module.
• Bypass test: Temporarily bypass the air switch by wiring the disposal to a standard wall switch or directly (per wiring diagram) to confirm the motor runs. If it does, replace the Whirlpool air switch kit.
