Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the spa's GFCI breaker before opening any electrical enclosures. Only work within your comfort and skill level; otherwise call an electrician.
PF indicates the control system detected an abnormal power condition.
- Reset GFCI: Turn the GFCI breaker fully off, then back on. Observe whether it holds or trips immediately.
- Check supply voltage: Using a multimeter (if qualified), verify that the spa is receiving the correct voltage (typically 240V across hot legs and 120V from each hot to neutral, depending on model).
- Inspect wiring connections: In the spa's control pack, check that all incoming power lugs are tight and free of corrosion or heat damage.
- Power cycle control pack: Leave power off for 1–2 minutes, then restore and see if PF clears.
If PF recurs or the breaker trips repeatedly, there may be an internal short in the heater, pumps, or control board. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
