Ozone generator indicator is on but sanitizer demand is high and water quality is poor

Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before handling ozone equipment. Avoid inhaling concentrated ozone.

Ozone systems lose effectiveness over time.

• Inspect tubing and injector: Check the clear ozone tubing from the generator to the injector for cracks, kinks, or water intrusion. Replace brittle tubing.
• Check check valve: Ensure the ozone check valve is oriented correctly and not stuck closed.
• Verify operation: With the spa running and ozone enabled, you should see fine bubbles at the ozone injection point. Lack of bubbles suggests a blockage or failed generator.
• Replace ozone generator if old: Ozone cells typically last 2–3 years. Install a compatible American Whirlpool ozone unit if the existing one is beyond its service life.

Remember that ozone supplements but does not replace proper chemical sanitation.
