Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before removing the control panel.
Partial keypad failure is usually a panel issue.
- Inspect panel surface: Look for cracks, bubbles, or delamination that could allow water in.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the panel and inspect the cable for kinks or corrosion at the connector.
- Dry moisture: If condensation is present, dry the area thoroughly and improve sealing around the panel opening.
- Replace panel if needed: Install a new American Whirlpool topside control panel with the same button layout and connector type.
If a new panel exhibits the same issues, the control board keypad circuitry may be defective and require replacement.
