Possible Causes
User-selected economy mode on AquaRest control, Misunderstanding of filtration/heating schedule, Incorrect time-of-day settings, Control firmware defaulting to EC after power loss
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal access is required.
- Step 1 – Check mode setting: On the topside panel, press the Mode or Settings button to cycle between ST (Standard), EC (Economy), and possibly SL (Sleep). Select Standard if you want continuous temperature maintenance.
- Step 2 – Verify filtration schedule: Review the programmed filter cycles; in EC mode, heating may only occur during these cycles. Adjust start times and durations as needed.
- Step 3 – Confirm time setting: Ensure the spa's internal clock is set correctly so filter/heating cycles occur at expected times.
If the spa remains in EC and will not change modes, the topside or control board may be malfunctioning.
