Possible Causes
Failed pump relay on control board, Shorted or seized jet pump motor, Loose pump wiring at control pack, Overcurrent protection tripping due to pump load
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before touching any electrical connections.
- Step 1 – Check pump operation: With power on, attempt to start the jets. Listen for humming, clicking, or no sound. A loud hum with no rotation suggests a seized pump.
- Step 2 – Inspect wiring: Turn power off. Open the equipment bay and verify that the jet pump's power cord is firmly plugged into the correct pump receptacle on the AquaRest control pack. Check for burned or discolored connectors.
- Step 3 – Check for obstructions: Ensure slice valves are fully open and that there are no visible obstructions at the pump suction fittings.
- Step 4 – Test pump manually: If qualified, disconnect the pump and test it on a known-good circuit with proper protection to confirm whether the motor runs. Replace the pump if it fails to start or trips breakers.
If the pump tests good but PRR persists, the control board pump relay may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
