Possible Causes

Conflicting readings between primary and secondary sensors, Loose sensor connectors, Water intrusion into sensor harness, Control board sensor circuit fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the control pack.

  • Step 1 – Inspect all sensors: Open the equipment bay and locate all temperature and high-limit sensors on the heater tube or control pack. Ensure each is firmly mounted and not physically damaged.
  • Step 2 – Check connections: Unplug each sensor from the control board one at a time, inspect for corrosion or moisture, dry if needed, and reconnect securely.
  • Step 3 – Power reset: Restore power and observe operation. If SE returns, identify which sensor triggers the error by temporarily swapping sensor ports (if identical) and seeing if the error follows the sensor.
  • Step 4 – Replace faulty sensor: Replace the sensor that causes the error to follow it.

If SE persists with new sensors, the control board likely requires professional repair or replacement.
