Possible Causes
Seized jet pump motor, Failed start capacitor on AquaRest pump, Debris jammed in impeller, Pump relay failure on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working on the pump or removing access panels.
- Step 1 – Listen to pump: With power on, press the jets button. A loud hum without water movement suggests a seized motor or bad capacitor.
- Step 2 – Check for air lock: Bleed air from the pump unions by loosening them slightly until water flows, then retighten.
- Step 3 – Inspect pump and capacitor: With power off, open the equipment bay. Check the pump for leaks or rust. Locate the start capacitor on the pump motor and inspect for bulging or leakage.
- Step 4 – Try manual shaft rotation: If accessible, gently rotate the pump shaft with a screwdriver to free minor seizing (power off).
If the pump still will not start, replace the pump assembly or motor/capacitor with AquaRest-compatible parts.
