Possible Causes
Insufficient sanitizer levels, Imbalanced pH and alkalinity, Dirty or worn AquaRest filter cartridge, Biofilm buildup in plumbing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not use the spa until water chemistry is corrected.
- Step 1 – Test water: Use test strips or a liquid kit to check sanitizer, pH, and alkalinity. Adjust to AquaRest-recommended ranges.
- Step 2 – Clean or replace filter: Remove the filter cartridge and clean thoroughly. Replace if more than 1 year old or if pleats are damaged.
- Step 3 – Shock the spa: Add a non-chlorine or chlorine shock according to label directions to oxidize contaminants.
- Step 4 – Flush plumbing (if recurring): Use a spa plumbing flush product before the next drain/refill to remove biofilm from AquaRest plumbing lines.
