Possible Causes
One or more sensors out of range, Mixed sensor types installed, Loose sensor connectors, Control board sensor circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker.
- Identify sensors: Aquaterra Spas typically use a water temperature sensor and a high-limit sensor on the heater tube. Confirm both are present and properly connected.
- Check connectors: Reseat each sensor plug on the control board, ensuring a snug fit.
- Inspect for mismatched parts: If a sensor was recently replaced, verify it is the correct part number for your Aquaterra control pack. Mixing different resistance-type sensors can cause SE errors.
- Reset and test: Restore power and observe if the SE code returns. If it does, each sensor should be tested with an ohmmeter and compared to manufacturer resistance charts.
If both sensors test correctly, the control board may be defective and should be evaluated by a spa technician.
