Possible Causes

Dirty or clogged filter cartridge, Air lock in circulation line, Partially closed slice/ball valve, Weak or failing circulation pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power to the spa at the main breaker before opening any panels or touching internal components.

  • Check water level: Ensure the water level is above all jets and skimmers. Low water can cause low flow.
  • Clean the filter: Remove the Aquavia Spa filter cartridge from the skimmer or filter housing. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose from top to bottom. If heavily soiled or older than 1–2 years, replace it.
  • Bleed air from the system: After refilling or draining, air can be trapped. Loosen the union on the circulation pump slightly until water seeps out, then retighten. Some Aquavia models have a bleed screw on the pump or filter head—open briefly to release air.
  • Verify valves are open: Ensure all slice or ball valves on the suction and return lines are fully open.
  • Restore power and test: Turn the breaker back on and run the circulation cycle. If F1 returns, the circulation pump may be weak or failing and should be inspected or replaced.
