Possible Causes
Seized pump impeller, Debris in wet end, Failing pump motor bearings, Incorrect supply voltage or wiring to pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and lock it out if possible. Do not run a pump that hums loudly or trips breakers.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the pump unions and inspect the impeller area for debris (stones, plastic, leaves). Clear any blockage.
- Spin the shaft: With the pump disconnected from power, try to rotate the motor shaft by hand (or via the rear cooling fan). It should turn smoothly. If it is stiff or seized, the pump motor likely needs replacement.
- Verify wiring: Confirm that the pump is wired according to the Aquavia Spa wiring diagram (correct voltage and connections). Incorrect wiring can cause overcurrent.
- Reassemble and test: Reattach unions, ensure gaskets are seated, restore power, and test. If F5 returns, replace the affected pump assembly.
