Possible Causes
Water temperature near freezing, Ambient temperature below freezing affecting sensors, Temperature sensor reading low, Spa left unheated in winter conditions
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not shut off power to the spa in freezing conditions unless it is fully winterized and drained.
- Confirm conditions: ICE is a protective mode. Check outside temperature and water temperature. This is normal if the spa is cold.
- Keep cover on: Ensure the Arctic Spas cover is closed and latched to retain heat. Replace damaged cover seals if heat loss is excessive.
- Verify heating: Confirm the set temperature is above freezing (e.g., 10–15°C minimum if not in use). The heater should run as needed to prevent freezing.
- Inspect sensors: If ICE appears even when water is warm, test the temperature sensor for calibration issues and replace if necessary.
- Winterization option: If you do not plan to use the spa in winter, have it professionally winterized and drained to avoid freeze damage.
