Possible Causes
Failed Pump 1 motor (Arctic Spas jet pump 1), Tripped thermal overload in pump, Loose or burned pump wiring at control pack, Failed pump relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker. Verify no one is in the spa while working on electrical components.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the equipment bay panel and check the Pump 1 wiring at the control pack and at the motor. Look for burned connectors, loose spade terminals, or melted insulation.
- Check motor condition: Feel the pump motor housing (when cool) for signs of overheating or burning smell. A very hot motor may have tripped its internal overload.
- Allow cool-down: If the motor was hot, leave power off for 30–60 minutes to allow the overload to reset, then restore power and test.
- Test pump manually: With power off, try to rotate the pump shaft (via the rear fan or coupling) by hand. If it is seized, the pump needs replacement.
- Relay/board issues: If the pump tests good but P1 error persists, the Pump 1 relay or control board may be faulty and require professional service.
