Possible Causes

Air lock in main jet pump, Closed slice valves on pump suction or discharge, Low water level exposing suction, Debris in pump impeller of Arctic Spas jet pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before opening unions or working on pumps.

  • Check water level: Ensure the water level is high enough to cover all suction fittings and filter intakes.
  • Open valves: Verify that all slice/knife valves around the main jet pumps are fully open.
  • Bleed air from pump: Loosen the union on the discharge side of the affected pump until air escapes and water begins to leak, then retighten.
  • Clear impeller: With power off, remove the pump wet end cover if accessible and inspect the impeller for debris or obstructions. Remove any foreign material.
  • Restart priming: Restore power and follow the Arctic Spas priming instructions on the topside panel, toggling the pump on and off in short bursts to help purge air.
  • Persistent Prr: If the pump still will not prime, the pump may have internal damage or a seized shaft and may require replacement.
