Possible Causes
Cracked PVC union or fitting, Leaking pump shaft seal on Arctic Spas pump, Split jet body or manifold, Leaking heater union or gasket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before working near water and electrical components.
- Locate the leak: Remove side panels and use a flashlight to trace moisture to its highest/earliest point. Dry the area and watch for fresh drips.
- Check unions: Inspect pump and heater unions. Hand-tighten slightly if loose, but do not overtighten. Replace union gaskets if cracked or flattened.
- Inspect pump seals: Look for water dripping from under the pump motor where it meets the wet end. A failed shaft seal requires a pump wet end or full pump replacement.
- Repair PVC fittings: For cracked manifolds or elbows, drain the spa below the leak and replace the affected PVC parts using spa-rated PVC cement.
- Test after repair: Refill and run the spa while monitoring the repaired area for any further leakage.
