Possible Causes
Failed circulation pump motor, Air lock in circulation line, Blocked suction screen or filter, Control board not sending power to circ pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker.
- Check for vibration: With power briefly restored, place a hand on the circulation pump. No vibration or sound suggests no power or a failed motor.
- Bleed air: With power OFF, loosen the circulation pump union until water flows and air escapes, then retighten.
- Clean filters and suction screens: Remove filters and inspect any suction screens in the footwell for blockage.
- Measure voltage (advanced): A technician can measure voltage at the circulation pump terminals when the spa calls for heat to determine if the pump or control board is at fault.
Most failed circulation pumps must be replaced with an Artesian-compatible circ pump of the same flow and voltage rating.
