Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately turn off power at the GFCI breaker. A dry-fired heater can be a fire and shock hazard.
- Inspect heater manifold: Look for signs of discoloration, melting, or scorching on the heater tube and nearby wiring.
- Check filters and water level: Clean filters thoroughly and ensure proper water level.
- Verify pump operation: With power restored briefly, confirm that the circulation pump runs before the heater is allowed to energize. If the heater comes on with no flow, shut power off and do not use the spa.
- Test heater relay (advanced): If the heater remains energized when it should be off, the control board relay may be welded closed and the control pack should be replaced or professionally repaired.
Because dry-fire can severely damage the heater and control pack, have a qualified Artesian spa technician inspect the system before further use.
