Possible Causes
Stuck flow switch contacts, Shorted flow switch wiring, Incorrect plumbing orientation of flow switch, Control board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before touching wiring or plumbing.
- Inspect flow switch wiring: Locate the flow switch near the heater and follow its wires to the control board. Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not pinched or damaged.
- Check for debris: With power OFF and water level lowered if necessary, remove the flow switch from the plumbing and inspect the paddle or plunger for debris or scale buildup. Clean gently and reinstall in the correct flow direction.
- Verify orientation: Ensure the arrow on the flow switch body matches the direction of water flow.
- Power cycle: Restore power and observe if FLC clears when the pump is off. If the code remains, the switch may be stuck closed or shorted.
- Replace flow switch: If cleaning does not help, replace the flow switch with an Artesian-compatible unit, using new seals and proper Teflon tape where required.
If a new flow switch does not resolve FLC, the control board’s flow input circuit may be faulty and should be checked by a spa technician.
