Possible Causes
Seized Pump 1 motor, Shorted pump windings, Loose pump wiring at control board, Incorrect voltage setting for pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker and lock it out if possible. Verify no voltage is present before touching wiring.
- Inspect pump wiring: Open the equipment bay and locate Pump 1 wiring at the control pack. Ensure all spade connectors are tight and no insulation is burned.
- Check for seized pump: Try to rotate the pump shaft by hand (from the rear fan opening) with power OFF. If it is locked, the pump may be seized.
- Check for moisture: Look for water leaks dripping onto the pump or control pack.
- Test without load (advanced): A technician can disconnect Pump 1 and see if the error clears, confirming a bad pump vs. bad board.
Most P1 faults require replacement of the Pump 1 assembly or the control board, depending on test results.
