Possible Causes

Open or failed pressure switch, Low water flow through heater, Disconnected pressure switch wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before working on the pressure switch or plumbing.

  • Locate pressure switch: On some Artesian models with older control packs, a pressure switch is threaded into the heater manifold with two small wires.
  • Check wiring: Ensure both wires are firmly attached and not corroded or broken.
  • Verify water flow: Clean filters, check water level, and confirm the pump is moving water through the heater.
  • Adjust or replace: Some pressure switches are adjustable; a small turn of the adjustment screw can restore proper operation, but over-adjustment can defeat safety. If in doubt, replace the switch with an Artesian-compatible part.

Never bypass a pressure switch permanently; it is a critical safety device.
