Possible Causes
Loose pump union, Cracked heater manifold, Failed slice valve seal, Split vinyl hose or PVC fitting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
- Identify leak source: Remove the equipment bay panel and use a flashlight to trace drips back to their highest point. Dry the area and observe while the pumps run.
- Tighten unions: Hand-tighten pump and heater unions; do not overtighten with tools as this can crack fittings.
- Check slice valves: Inspect around the stems and bodies of gate valves for leaks. Replace or rebuild leaking valves.
- Repair plumbing: For cracked PVC or vinyl hoses, drain the spa below the leak and replace the affected section using PVC primer/cement or new hose and clamps.
If the shell or jet bodies are leaking behind the cabinet, professional leak detection may be required.
