Possible Causes
Water temperature near freezing, Ambient temperature sensor detecting low temperature, Control system automatically running pumps to prevent freezing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not shut off power to the spa during freezing conditions unless the spa is fully winterized.
- Verify water level and cover: Ensure the spa is full and the cover is properly in place to retain heat.
- Check set temperature: Set the spa to a normal operating temperature (e.g., 100–104°F) so the heater can maintain temperature.
- Allow freeze protection to operate: The system will cycle pumps automatically to prevent freezing. This is normal behavior.
If ICE is displayed in warm weather, the temperature sensor may be faulty and should be tested and replaced.
