Possible Causes
Partially clogged skimmer basket or suction fittings, Debris in Beachcomber Microfilter cartridge core, Partially blocked heater inlet screen, Weak main jet pump on low speed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI before removing any components.
- Inspect skimmer and suction fittings: Remove any leaves, hair, or debris from the skimmer basket and visible suction grates.
- Deep clean filter: Soak the Beachcomber Microfilter cartridge overnight in a spa filter cleaner solution, then rinse thoroughly. Replace if pleats are collapsed or fabric is frayed.
- Check heater inlet screen: With power OFF and water level maintained, open the equipment bay and locate the heater inlet. Some Beachcomber heaters have a small screen or mesh; remove debris carefully if accessible.
- Test with jets on high: Restore power and run jets on high. If FLO appears only under heavy use, the jet pump low-speed winding may be weak and require replacement.
If intermittent FLO continues after thorough cleaning, schedule a technician to test pump amperage and inspect internal plumbing for partial blockages.
