Possible Causes

Dirty or clogged filter cartridge, Kinked or blocked spa hose, Low water level in spa, Airlock in circulation system

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the Bestway spa from the mains before opening any connections. Never work on the spa while you are in the water.

  • Check water level: Ensure the water level is between the minimum and maximum lines on the spa wall. Top up if needed.
  • Inspect hoses: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or crushed sections in the inlet and outlet hoses connected to the pump/heater unit. Straighten or reposition as needed.
  • Clean or replace filter:
    • Unscrew the filter housing from inside the spa.
    • Remove the filter cartridge and rinse it thoroughly with a garden hose from top to bottom.
    • If the cartridge is dark, deformed, or older than 2–4 weeks of regular use, replace it.
  • Bleed air from the system (airlock):
    • With the spa unplugged, slightly loosen the top hose connection at the pump/heater until you hear air escape and a small amount of water dribble out.
    • Retighten the connection securely.
  • Restart the spa: Plug the spa back in, power it on, and press the reset/heat button as per the Bestway manual to clear E01.

If E01 returns immediately after these steps, the internal flow sensor or pump may be faulty and should be inspected or replaced by a qualified technician.
