Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa before opening the pump housing or removing any covers. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
- Check for obstructions:
- Remove the filter cartridge and inspect the suction area for leaves, hair, or debris.
- From the outside, gently feel the pump inlet/outlet for blockages.
- Listen for pump noise: After reconnecting power, briefly start the pump and listen. A humming sound with no water movement suggests a jammed or seized pump.
- Inspect power supply: Ensure the spa is plugged directly into a properly grounded outlet (no thin extension cords) to avoid voltage drop.
- Reset: Unplug for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and attempt to clear E06.
If E06 recurs and the pump is noisy, hot, or fails to start, the pump motor is likely failing and the complete pump/heater unit or pump module should be replaced by a technician.
