Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa and allow components to cool before inspection. Do not touch live terminals.
- Confirm symptom: Water does not heat even though the pump runs and the set temperature is above current water temperature.
- Inspect external wiring: Without opening sealed sections, visually check any accessible heater wiring for discoloration or melting.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10–15 minutes and retry. If E09 returns immediately, internal components are likely damaged.
Diagnosis of heater resistance and relay function requires a multimeter and access to internal wiring. This should be performed by a qualified technician. In most cases, the heater assembly or entire control unit must be replaced.
