Possible Causes

Moisture inside control housing, Damaged power cord insulation, Internal short in heater or pump, Faulty built-in GFCI plug

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If a ground fault is suspected, do not continue using the spa until the issue is resolved. Risk of electric shock.

  • Reset GFCI/RCD: Press the reset button on the Bestway GFCI plug (if equipped). If it will not reset or trips immediately, leave it off.
  • Inspect power cord: Check the entire length of the cord for cuts, crushed sections, or exposed wires. Do not use the spa if damage is found.
  • Check for external water ingress: Ensure the control unit is not sitting in standing water and that all covers are properly sealed.
  • Try a different outlet: Plug into another properly grounded outlet on a different circuit to rule out house wiring issues (if allowed by the manual).

Persistent E11 or repeated GFCI trips indicate an internal leakage fault. The spa should be inspected by a qualified electrician or service technician; internal components such as the heater, pump, or control board may need replacement.
