Safety first: Ensure all electrical components remain dry when adding insulation or wind protection.

• Use cover consistently: Keep the Bestway cover on and latched whenever you are not in the spa, especially while heating.
• Add ground insulation: Place an insulating mat or foam board under the spa base to reduce heat loss to the ground (ensure it is flat and supports the spa evenly).
• Wind shield: Use windbreaks such as privacy screens or fencing around the spa to reduce convective heat loss.
• Preheat longer: Allow extra time for heating in winter; consider maintaining a moderate temperature continuously rather than reheating from cold.

If heating performance is extremely poor even in mild conditions, the heater output should be checked by a technician.
