Possible Causes

Seized Pump 2 motor, Shorted Pump 2 cable, Incorrect pump size installed, Failed Pump 2 relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn OFF power at the GFCI breaker before servicing Pump 2.

  • Check Pump 2 connection: Verify that Pump 2 is plugged into the correct receptacle on the control pack and that the connector is not burned or loose.
  • Inspect for leaks: Look for water leaks around Pump 2 that may have entered the motor or wiring compartment.
  • Spin test: With power OFF, attempt to rotate the motor shaft by hand. If it is stiff or frozen, the pump is likely seized and must be replaced.
  • Measure winding resistance: Use a multimeter to check for proper resistance across the motor leads. A short or open indicates motor failure.
  • Replace Pump 2 if faulty: Install a Bullfrog-approved replacement pump matching the original specifications.

If P2 persists with a good pump, the control board's Pump 2 circuit may be damaged; professional replacement of the control pack is recommended.
