Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Leave power off at the GFCI until you have corrected the cause of the dry condition.
- Resolve underlying dr cause: Follow the steps for the dr error: correct water level, open valves, bleed air, and ensure the circulation pump is working.
- Inspect heater housing: Check the Canadian Spa Company heater tube for discoloration, warping, or leaks that may indicate dry-fire damage.
- Replace damaged components: If the heater shows signs of overheating or leaking, replace the heater assembly before restoring power.
- Clear lockout: Once the cause is fixed, leave power off for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. Some control systems require a longer power-off period to clear dY lockout.
If dY returns immediately, the control pack may have a permanent fault or the heater temperature sensor may be damaged and should be tested or replaced.
