Possible Causes

Spa set to Economy or Eco mode, Filtration cycles too short, User programming changed accidentally

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: EC is typically an operating mode, not an error.

  • Check user manual: Refer to your specific Canadian Spa Company spa manual for mode descriptions (Standard, Economy, Sleep, etc.).
  • Change mode: Use the topside control panel to cycle through modes until you reach Standard or desired mode. This often involves pressing the Temp and Light or Temp and Jets buttons together for a few seconds.
  • Adjust filtration cycles: Increase filtration duration so the heater has more run time if needed.

If the spa still does not heat properly in Standard mode, troubleshoot heating and flow issues separately.
