Possible Causes
Seized Pump 1 motor, Tripped thermal overload in pump, Loose pump wiring at spa pack, Failed pump relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI before touching the pump or wiring.
- Check for obstructions: Remove pump 1 suction covers and ensure no debris is blocking flow.
- Inspect pump: In the equipment bay, check Pump 1 for leaks, burnt smell, or signs of overheating.
- Spin shaft (if accessible): With power OFF, try to rotate the pump shaft or impeller by hand to see if it is seized.
- Check wiring: Verify that Pump 1’s power leads are tight at the spa pack terminals and at the motor junction box.
- Test operation: Restore power and briefly try to start Pump 1. If it hums but does not turn, the motor is likely seized and needs replacement.
If the pump runs fine when wired directly (technician test) but P1 persists, the control pack’s pump relay may be faulty.
