Possible Causes
Loose sensor connection, Damaged temperature or hi-limit sensor cable, Water intrusion in sensor plug, Failed sensor thermistor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI before accessing the control pack.
- Identify which sensor: Some Canadian Spa Company packs will specify SE1/SE2; otherwise, inspect both temperature and hi-limit sensors.
- Check connectors: Unplug each sensor from the spa pack, inspect for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture. Dry thoroughly and reconnect firmly.
- Inspect cables: Follow each sensor cable along the shell and equipment bay. Look for cuts, abrasions, or melted sections. Replace if damaged.
- Test resistance: With power OFF, measure each sensor’s resistance and compare to the expected thermistor chart. Replace any sensor that is open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Power cycle: Restore power and see if SE clears. If it returns with new sensors, the control pack may have a sensor input fault.
