Possible Causes
Water intrusion in electrical components, Shorted heater element to ground, Shorted pump motor, Damaged ozonator or LED lighting transformer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Repeated GFCI tripping indicates a potentially dangerous fault. Do not bypass the GFCI.
- Visual inspection: With power OFF, open the equipment bay and look for obvious water leaks, burnt wiring, or melted components.
- Isolate components: Disconnect non-essential loads (ozonator, lights, blower) one at a time from the spa pack, then restore power to see if the GFCI still trips.
- Test heater: Disconnect heater wires and try powering the spa. If it no longer trips, the heater is likely shorted to ground and must be replaced.
- Test pumps: Similarly, disconnect pumps one at a time to identify a shorted motor.
Once the faulty component is identified, replace it with a Canadian Spa Company-compatible part. If no single component is found, the control pack itself may be leaking to ground.
