Possible Causes
Disconnected temperature sensor, Sensor reading outside valid range, Failed sensor or broken cable, Faulty input on Catalina control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before inspecting sensors.
- Step 1 – Inspect sensor plug: Locate the temperature sensor connector on the control board and ensure it is fully seated.
- Step 2 – Check cable: Follow the sensor cable from the heater tube to the board, looking for cuts, abrasions, or rodent damage.
- Step 3 – Replace sensor: If the cable is damaged or the reading never returns, replace the temperature sensor with a Catalina-compatible part.
- Step 4 – Board diagnosis: If a new sensor does not restore temperature display, the control board input may be defective and require replacement.
