Display shows ICE or FR; pumps run automatically even when spa is not in use.

Safety: Do not disable freeze protection in cold climates; it prevents plumbing damage.

• Step 1 – Verify conditions: Check outdoor and water temperature. If near freezing, the spa is operating normally to prevent ice formation.
• Step 2 – Cover and insulate: Ensure the Catalina spa cover is properly seated and in good condition. Replace waterlogged or damaged covers to improve insulation.
• Step 3 – Check sensor accuracy: If ICE appears in mild weather, compare displayed water temperature to an external thermometer. If readings are inaccurate, inspect and possibly replace the temperature sensor.
• Step 4 – Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes and restore. If ICE appears immediately with warm water, the sensor or control board may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
