How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before working on Pump 2.
- Step 1 – Test from topside: Press the Pump 2 button and observe whether the pump starts, hums, or does nothing.
- Step 2 – Inspect wiring: In the equipment bay, locate the Pump 2 connector on the Catalina control pack. Ensure it is fully seated and not burned.
- Step 3 – Check configuration: Some Catalina spa packs use dip switches or software settings to enable Pump 2. Verify configuration against the wiring diagram on the control pack cover.
- Step 4 – Motor evaluation: If Pump 2 hums but does not turn, the motor may be seized. Replacement of the pump assembly is typically required.
If P2 errors persist after verifying wiring and configuration, the control board output for Pump 2 may be damaged and require professional replacement.
