• Step 2 – Listen for cavitation: A rattling, gravel-like sound often indicates air in the pump. Bleed air from pump unions and run the pump on low to purge.
• Step 3 – Inspect for debris: If noise persists, a technician can remove the pump wet end and check for foreign objects in the impeller.
• Step 4 – Bearing replacement: A high-pitched squeal or grinding usually means motor bearings are failing. Replace the pump motor or complete pump assembly with a Catalina-compatible unit.
