Possible Causes
Air lock in heater plumbing, Very low water flow through heater, Closed slice valve near heater, Recently refilled spa not fully purged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before loosening any unions.
- Check valves: Ensure all slice valves around the pump and heater on your Clearwater Spas unit are fully pulled up (open).
- Bleed air from heater: Slightly loosen the union at the heater inlet until water flows steadily, then retighten.
- Clean filter: Remove and rinse the filter cartridge to improve flow.
- Reset system: Restore power and observe whether the DR code clears after a priming cycle.
If DR persists, the circulation pump may be weak or failing and should be tested or replaced.
