Possible Causes
Shorted or stuck-closed flow switch, Miswired flow switch harness, Control board input fault, Debris bridging contacts in flow switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off power at the GFCI breaker before working in the equipment bay.
- Inspect wiring: Open the equipment compartment and locate the flow switch on the heater plumbing. Follow its two-wire harness to the Clearwater Spas control pack. Ensure the connector is fully seated and not pinched or damaged.
- Check for moisture: Look for water intrusion around the flow switch body and wiring. Dry any moisture and correct leaks before restoring power.
- Reset system: With wiring confirmed, restore power and see if the FLC code clears after a reboot cycle.
- Test switch behavior: If you are comfortable, with power off, disconnect one wire from the flow switch and power the spa back on. If the code changes from FLC to FLO, the switch is likely stuck closed and should be replaced.
Because this is a safety-related sensor, replacement of the flow switch or control board should be done by a qualified technician if you are not experienced with spa electronics.
