- Clean filter: Remove and thoroughly rinse the Clearwater Spas filter cartridge. Try running the spa briefly without the filter to see if HL stops occurring.
- Check water level: Ensure water is at the proper level to maintain consistent flow.
- Bleed air: Loosen pump unions slightly to release trapped air, then retighten.
- Observe circulation: With power restored, verify that water is moving strongly from the heater return. Weak flow suggests a failing circulation pump.
If HL continues to trip, have a technician test the circulation pump amperage and heater temperature rise.
