Possible Causes
Worn pump bearings, Debris jammed in impeller, Failed start capacitor on Clearwater Spas pump, Low supply voltage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching the pump.
- Manual rotation: Try to spin the pump motor shaft by hand. If it is stiff or locked, the pump may be seized and require replacement.
- Check for obstructions: Remove pump wet end (advanced) to inspect the impeller for debris.
- Capacitor check: A bulged or leaking start capacitor mounted on the pump indicates failure and should be replaced with the same rating.
Because pump motors involve high voltage, replacement is best handled by a spa technician.
