Possible Causes
Failed heater element, Tripped high-limit that will not reset, Faulty heater relay on Clearwater Spas control board, Flow issue preventing heater from energizing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before accessing the heater or control pack.
- Confirm mode and setpoint: Ensure the spa is in Standard mode and the set temperature is higher than current water temperature.
- Check for flow errors: Make sure no FLO, DR, or similar codes are present; resolve those first.
- Feel heater tube: After running for 15–20 minutes, carefully feel the metal heater tube (it should be warm, not hot). If it stays cold, the heater is likely not energizing.
- Inspect heater terminals: Look for burnt wires or loose connections at the heater element terminals.
Testing heater resistance and control board output requires a multimeter and should be done by a qualified technician.
